1978 | Signtech was formed
In 1978, SignTech was established in Canada, and began with a patented extrusion hinging system for assembling sign cabinets.
SignTech also invented a patented tension system for flexible sign face materials, that became a standard in the industry.
As a patented system, this was sold worldwide with great success. -
1980 | Flexface Invented
In 1980 SignTech also invented ‘Flexface’ a flexible reinforced vinyl film for sign faces, we not only had to knit the polyester fiber together but also make the first vinyl cast line to inbed the fabric.This made the surface smooth to print on. This allowed sign faces to become large in size with no blowout’s as the Flexface was tentioned on the sign cabinet like a drum. -
1982 | Heat transfer
In 1982, the heat transfer process for the signage business was developed. This enabled a thin, even coat of ink to be applied to the Flexface surface for decorating purposes.This process made it possible to apply dry ink to a vinyl surface. These heat transfer machines were then designed and made in Canada. Over 300 units sold worldwide over the next 10 years.
In conjunction with Flexface (flexible sign face material), and the heat transfer press, we also developed and manufactured the transfer paper called ‘Plastiprint’, which was a coating of ink on transfer paper.

This was used to decorate with screen printing and heat transfer methods. -

Selling over 100 units worldwide, the Jeti 3324 AquaJet gained popularity with print houses, by giving them the opportunity to address the eco friendly demands of their client’s. This revolutionary printing technology also awarded James Gandy, ‘DPI Innovator of the year‘ , for his contribution’s to the digital printing industry.Later in 2007, the Jeti 2030 UV Continental flatbed (48 spectra print heads) 2 meter x 3 meter was released for European markets. During this time, in order to facilitate the increase in demand, Gandinnovations sold a percentage of it’s shares to an investment company to help reduce wait times, and increase production output -

The next generation of Grand Format Digital Printers will be due for release in the Fall of 2010 at SGIA in Las Vegas. The new Pred8tor is a hybrid UV flatbed and roll to roll machine. The Pred8tor has been designed from the ground up, with new software, GUI controls and print head technology.
The Pred8tor will print on a 4′ x 8′ sheet of flat media at never before seen speeds in this class and at a far superior print quality not yet attained by the older generation of printers. The Pred8tor is able to produce these speeds and quality because of new print head technology, streamlined algorithms and having total control of all processes, from the initial design to the finished assembly; unlike the majority of other Grand Format Digital Printers on the market today. -
